This week, our colleague Maria Mair attended the CDR Award 2024 Conference & Ceremony at the Bavarian Representation in Berlin. Together with experts, companies, and innovators, she engaged in discussions about the future of digital responsibility.
The Corporate Digital Responsibility Award (CDR Award) honors companies from the DACH region that actively promote digital responsibility and develop innovative solutions beyond legal requirements. The event was organized by Bayern Innovativ GmbH and the German Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW) e.V.
Conference: Insights into Digital Responsibility
Before the award ceremony, the conference provided exciting insights into current challenges and solutions in the realm of digital responsibility. The event kicked off with an inspiring keynote by Prof. Dr. Benjamin Müller, emphasizing that companies should not view CDR merely as a reactive measure but as a strategic tool to actively shape sustainable digital responsibility.
Another highlight was the workshop on Dual Transformation by Claudia Ricci from Fraunhofer IAO. The discussions revolved around how sustainability and digitalization can not only be pursued in parallel but also be integrated synergistically. Participants engaged in controversial discussions about various approaches to linking ecological and digital transformation – from synergies to potential conflicts.
Recognizing the Best CDR Projects
Following the discussions, 15 outstanding projects were honored with the CDR Award. The awardees represented a diverse range of organizations – from startups to municipal initiatives and established companies. This demonstrates that digital responsibility can be embraced regardless of industry or company size. Congratulations to the top winners of the CDR Awards 2024.
The event impressively highlighted that digital responsibility is not just an obligation but also an opportunity to drive sustainable innovation and future-proof businesses.
